Are you a dog person? A cat person? A snake person? Personally, I'm a cat person. (Yup, I have four!)
Presidents are pet people too. In fact, only three presidents lived in the official residence without a pet. Andrew Johnson did have some pet mice in his bedroom. So, some might say that only two presidents were pet-less.
We all know that having a pet can enrich a child’s (and a president's) life. Pets contribute to children's emotional well-being by fostering empathy, compassion, and responsibility.
Presidents' kids also have had pets. Alice Roosevelt famously had a pet snake named Emily Spinach who used to make appearances at White House dinners, not always to the pleasure of the guests!
