A DIFFERENT KIND OF AUTHOR VISIT
Immersive School-Wide Storytelling Adventure

Created by EmmyAward-winning authors and storytellers Jill Ross Nadler and Kenny Mikey, Page Turner’s Story Quest blends theater, collaborative storytelling, book-making, teacher training, and an interactive family night show into a one-of-a-kind literacy adventure.
Reading and writing become a magical experience as kids see their ideas, words, and imagination become part of a living story.

ALL THE STORIES IN THE WORLD MIGHT VANISH!
Kenny tossed a rubber chicken in Page Turner's Once Upon a Time Machine. Now it's going haywire. A princess is stuck at the bottom of a pirate ship. A wolf is guarding a castle he's never seen. If the machine isn’t fixed in time, all stories will disappear!
The kids at your school are the only people who can fix it!

HOW IT WORKS…

The Quest Begins
Your school receives an urgent video message from Page Turner's mysterious Storyologist Lighthouse: The Once Upon a Time Machine is malfunctioning. Stories are disappearing. It's going to take kids at your school to save the stories.

Storyologist Training: An Author Visit like no other
Kenny and Page Turner (aka Children’s author Jill Ross Nadler) start Storyologist training with the HAPPILY EVER LAUGHTER Game Show, featuring hilarious book-related challenges.

Imagination Activation Stations
Story Quest stations pop up around the school. Bulletin boards become mini-Once Upon a Time Machines. Interactive Posters ask kids to invent story ideas.

Classroom Quest Visit
Page Turner and Kenny visit each classroom to collect Story Elements. The first grade helps create a character. Second grade decides the setting, third grade creates the beginning, etc.

Kids Create a Magic Carpet Adventure
An ordinary piece of fabric transforms into a magic flying carpet the moment the class decides where it's headed: a jungle, a haunted house, outer space. Kids act out the story as they help to create it on the spot.

Pop-Up Book-Making Classroom Experience
Ideas leap off the page as kids become authors, illustrators, and paper engineers, writing, designing, and building their own magical pop-up books from scratch.

Storyologist Academy for Teachers
Teachers earn their goggles when they learn Page Turner’s creative literacy techniques that turn classroom learning into reading and writing adventures. More info HERE.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is Page Turner's Story Quest?
Page Turner's Story Quest is an immersive, school-wide storytelling experience that turns a traditional author visit into a collaborative adventure. Kids work alongside Page Turner's Storyologists to create stories, explore story structure, make pop-up books, and help solve a story problem that unfolds throughout the visit.
How is Story Quest different from a traditional school author visit?
Instead of simply listening to an author speak about books and writing, kids become part of the story. They write, create, collaborate, solve problems, and help move the adventure forward. Jill and Kenny still share their experiences as authors and storytellers, but Story Quest gives kids a chance to experience the creative process themselves.
How long is a Story Quest school visit?
Story Quest can be customized from a one-day visit to a five-day immersive experience. The Grand Adventure offers the most complete experience, while Mini Adventures provide schools with flexible options for shorter schedules and smaller budgets.
Does Story Quest take over the regular school day?
No. Story Quest is designed to weave into the school day while kids continue attending their regular classes. Activities and visits are scheduled with the school so the adventure can unfold throughout the visit without replacing the rest of the curriculum.
What ages or grade levels is Story Quest designed for?
Story Quest is designed primarily for elementary-age children and can be adapted for different ages and grade levels. Writing, storytelling, and creative activities can be adjusted so younger and older kids can participate successfully in the same school-wide adventure.
Are teachers involved in Story Quest?
Yes. In the full Grand Adventure, teachers can participate in Storyologist Academy, a hands-on professional development workshop featuring practical storytelling and creative literacy techniques they can continue using after the Storyologists leave.

Is there a family event?
The Grand Adventure culminates in a live, interactive performance of The Mixed-Up Fairytale for kids and their families. Mini Adventures can conclude with a smaller family celebration instead of the full stage production.
Can international schools book Story Quest?
Yes. Story Quest was created for international as well as U.S. schools. Programs can be customized around a school's schedule, location, facilities, and goals. Travel expenses are additional for in-person programs.
Is there a virtual Story Quest option?
Yes. The Virtual Adventure brings Story Quest to schools anywhere in the world through launch videos, printable materials, and live online adventures with the Storyologists.
How much does Story Quest cost?
In-person Story Quest programs currently start at $2,500 plus travel expenses, with the full Grand Adventure starting at $5,000 plus travel expenses. Virtual Adventures start at $1,500. Final pricing depends on the length and components of the program. There are no travel expense for schools in south Florida.
